We don’t move too far outside of the Chalk and Lancre in this chronological list of the places in The Shepherd’s Crown. The alphabetical list generally stays at home too.
Circle Sea – The main body of water separating the continents of the Disc. Probably responsible for preventing more wars than have already been fought.
Hublands – The central area of the Disc. First mentioned as such in Sourcery but hinted at earlier with the Hub, Hubwards, etc.
Chalk, The – Home of Tiffany Aching, the Chalk Hill Clan of the Nac Mac Feegle, and the Baron Roland de Chumsfanleigh. Location of the White Horse.
Fairyland – The world of the (not so nice) elves and their Queen (aka Quin). The world sometimes comes close enough to the Discworld that you can travel between the two. Not that you’d really want to, except in special circumstances.
Lady Sibyl Free Hospital – Where Dr. Lawn works. Has the unusual reputation of aiming to get people well.
Shires, The – Location of Crundells, surrounded by Ankh-Morpork, Quirm, Sto Lat, and Pseudopolis.
XXXX (Fourecks) – Fabled hidden continent, mate. Terror Incognita. EcksEcksEcksEcks.
Ankh-Morpork – The largest city on the Disc where much of the action in the Discworld series takes place. Ruled by the Patrician. Home of Unseen University.
Lancre – A small kingdom in the Ramtops. Home of Nanny Ogg and several other witches and wizards.
Ramtop Mountains – One of the main mountain ranges Hubward.
Slice – Home of Millie Hipwood / Hopgood / Hopwood, Mr Vermissage, and other minor characters.
Quirm College for Young Ladies – Where Susan Sto Helit was sometimes seen.
Ham-on-Rye – Between Quirm and Ankh-Morpork. A pretty good day’s walk from the Chalk.
Genua – Main setting of Witches Abroad. Sounds like Genoa. Feels like New Orleans.
Boffo Novelty & Joke Shop, The – In Tenth Egg Street, Ankh-Morpork. Patronized by Miss Treason…a lot.
Unseen University – The home of the Disc’s wizards, a very magical place where magic is almost never used, and for good reason. Known as UU, for short. Sometimes misspelled, Unesene.
Oblong Office – The main room of the Patrician in the Palace. Definitely not the same as the Oval Office.
Monastery of Oi Dong – Created by Wen the Eternally Surprised. Home of the History Monks.
Sto Plains – Area in which the cities of Sto Lat, Sto Helit, and Ankh-Morpork are located.
Ephebe – Located across the Djel (or Djelibeybi, if you prefer) from Tsort. Home of philosophers.
Tenth Egg Street – Street of small traders including Boffo’s and Pointer & Pickles. There’s a gang in the area, but I can’t think of its name.
King’s Head – Supplied the liquor for a gathering of nobs that Nobby attended.
Accountants’ Guild – The president is Mr Frostrip. They do some creative accounting.
Home Farm – Residence of the Aching family in the Chalk.
Baron’s Arms – A popular pub on or near the Chalk.
Twoshirts – Located in the Chalk. Home of Abiding Swindell, Nosey Hinds, and Clem Doins.
Star, The – Popular pub visited by Geoffrey Swivel and Mephistopheles.
Tir Nani Ogg – Nanny Ogg’s Place.
Überwald – Home to many werewolf, vampires, Igors, and other races. Homeland of Angua and Cheery.
Goose Gate – Area in which a large land gift was given from Sam Vimes to Dr. Lawn. He got paid for that.
Hot Dang – Lumberjacking town between Lancre and Ohulan Cutash.
Stank – Town with a great name that was unfortunately bypassed by the railroad.
Slippery Hollow – Somewhere between the town of Lancre and the Dancers, where the Morris Men danced.
Plates for All Seasons – Mrs. Tumble’s shop in a village near Home Farm.
