There are many interesting things in Fourecks. Here are some of the more important ones in chronological order as found in The Last Continent. This page has the alphabetical list of the significant things in The Last Continent.
Weezencake’s Unreliable Algorithm – Used to assemble “new” books in L-space. It’s complicated.
Hex – Partly magical computer located in the High Energy Magic Building of Unseen University.
How to Dynamically Manage People for Dynamic Results in a Caring Empowering Way in Quite a Short Time Dynamically – If it ever fully comes into being, Archchancellor Ridcully will find it a favorite.
Old Tom – The bell in the UU clock tower that tolls in silence.
Lives of Very Dull People – Written by Wasport. Includes Sir Roderick Purdeigh, as well as information on the islands of Slakki and Purdee.
Snakes of All Nations – Written by Wrencher. Informs that Fourecks has few snakes because they were eaten by the spiders.
Dangerous Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds, Fish, Jellyfish, Insects, Spiders, Crustaceans, Grasses, Trees, Mosses, and Lichens of Terror Incognita – Volume 29c, Part 3, was discovered by Death.
Thaumodalite – Unknown whether this is an object or a substance. Ponder owns it/some. Perhaps related to a thaumometer.
Principles of Thaumic Propagation – Owned by the Lecturer in Recent Runes. On Mono Island it changed into The Omega Conspiracy.
Omega Conspiracy, The – New title of the Principles of Thaumic Propagation.
Iconograph – Twoflower the Tourists is the first one known to bring one to Ankh-Morpork. You’d call it a camera, but I bet your camera doesn’t have an artistic imp inside. At least, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t.
Lancre Blue Vein – Presumably cheese. Reacts vigorously with acid.
Dwarf bread – Ironcrust’s best – “T’ Bread Wi’ T’ Edge”.
Small Boring Group of Faint Stars – In The Last Continent, used to determine the wizards had gone back in time.
Roo Beer – Made at a brewery in Bugarup that was inherited by Neilette.
Rusted Dunny Valley Semillons – Semillons are grapes. Dunny can have more than one meaning. Let’s hope the bar patron in Bugarup meant the better one.
Sapu Tree – Found on Sumtri Island. Not nice to people.
Sledgehammer Plant – Found in Bhangbhangduc. Takes the occasional unobservant human victim.
Pyramid Strangler Vine – Preys on other more stupid plants.
Two Up – Flip 2 coins and bet on whether they will come down or not. Seems common in Fourecks.
Squid – (Or fquid, if you’re a crocodile.) Unit of currency in Fourecks.
Drop-bear – Found in Fourecks. Drops out of trees onto its intended prey.
Thaumometer – Measures the density of a magical field.
Strawberry Sackville – Dessert created in the Bugarup Opera House by Nunco in honor of Dame Wendy Sackville.
Apple Glazier – Dessert created in the Bugarup Opera House by Imposo in honor of Dame Margyreen Glazier.
Orange Ormulu – Dessert created in the Bugarup Opera House by Charley’s father in honor of Dame Janeen Ormulu.
Peach Nellie – Dessert created in the Bugarup Opera House by Rincewind (no, really!) in honor of Dame Nellie Butt.
Mr Pootle – Apparently a (possibly) stuffed animal or similar toy owned by Archchancellor Ridcully when he was a young lad.
Graphical Device – Invented by student wizard “Rubber” Houser to write multiple lines (up to 256) at once. Popular until it propelled him backwards out a fourth floor window.
Funnelweb – One type (brand?) of beer in Fourecks.
Maxwell’s Impressive Separator – Spell that used nano-demons to unmix two things. Similar to Bonza Charlie’s Beaut Sieve.
Bonza Charlie’s Beaut Sieve – Created in Fourecks. See Maxwell’s Impressive Separator.
