Reaper Man Persons – Alphabetic

All the new persons you’re introduced to in Reaper Man are here in ABC order. They’re in chronological order here.

Alberto Malich the Wise (Albert) – Founder of Unseen University. “Wise” may just be an honorarium. Death’s housekeeper.

Amazing Maurice, The – Had Educated Rodents. See the book.

Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully the Brown – Prominent leader of Unseen University. Sorta good at what he does – whatever that is.

Archdeacon of Thrume – Able to forgive.

Arthur Winkings – Vampire. AKA Count Notfaroutoe.

Auditors – Mysterious beings, often clad in gray, who seem to report to no one but Azrael. Making personal references causes them to cease to exist.

Azrael – Not exactly God but probably close enough.

Big Henry – Knocked out Mr Lofton during the fire to prevent him from running into the building.

Bill Door (aka Death) – The name Death takes on while in the employ of Miss Flitworth.

Binky – Death’s white (pale) horse, revealing the serendipitous side of Death.

Blind Io – Chief of the gods who live at Dunmanifestin. He appears to be blind but has many eyes outside his body.

Bursar, The – At UU, but not a wizard. Needs his dried frog pills. Aka Mr. Dinwiddie.

Captain Doxie – Of the Ankh-Morpork Day Watch.

Carmen Miranda – Of the Roundworld. Could have worn Mrs Cake’s hat to the funeral of a continent.

Count Casanunda (Casanunder) – Dwarf known as the Disc’s greatest lover.

Chume – The Notorious Herring Thrower.

Cut-me-own-throat (C.M.O.T) Dibbler – Originally known as Claude Maximillian Overton Transpire Dibbler. Entrepreneur (unsuccessful). Will sell you a “pig” sausage innabun. Don’t ask questions.

Cyril – Miss Flitworth’s dyslexic cockerel.

Dean – In several novels, his precise office is not specified. Probably Dean of Pentacles.

Death – An anthrpomorphic personification comprised of a skeleton, covered in a black robe, and holding a scythe (or a sword, for kings). He communicates in CAPTIAL LETTERS without the quotation marks.

Death of Fleas – The only entity, other than the Death of Rats, to resist reabsorption into Death.

Death of Rats – Once part of Death, he retained his own identity even after Bill Door ceased to be.

Detritus – A troll who eventually becomes a leading member of the Watch.

Doreen Winkings – Vampire. AKA Countess Notfaroutoe. Vife of Arthur.

Douglas – A Captain in the Patrician’s guard. A spearhead inexplicably fell on his foot.

Druto Pole – Florist who convinced Death to buy orchids and roses instead of lilies.

Duke Bottomley – Acquaintance of Bill Door in town. Had parents with upwardly-mobile if rather simplistic ideas about class structure. (See his brothers.)

Earl Bottomley – Brother of Duke.

Edgar Allan Poe – Of the Roundworld. Of pendulum fame. Possibly to appear in these novels nevermore.

Egbert – Young man, possibly an apprentice to Ned Simnel.

Gabby Wheels – Acquaintance of Bill Door in town. Never said anything.

Geoffrey – General Secretary and Chief Butt of the Guild of Fools and Joculators.

Great A’Tuin – He or she is the turtle who moves through space in the Discworld universe. On his or her back are 4 elephants. On the backs of the elephants rests the Disc itself.

Great-uncle Erasmus – Relative of Ludmilla Cake. Sometimes had to eat his meals under the table.

Grune (god) – God of unseasonal fruit.

High Priest of Blind Io – Won the right (by a club with nails) to crown the apparent king of Ankh-Morpork.

Hogfather – Does his gifting thing at Hogswatch time.

Hyperopia – Goddess of shoes.

Iago Peedbury – Farmer near where Miss Flitworth lived.

Ixolite – Banshee. OoooEeeeOoooEeeeOoooEEEee.

King Bottomley – Brother of Duke.

Lecturer in Recent Runes – Wizard at UU. Contrived wearing false beards over their beards as a disguise.

(Head) Librarian – Formerly human, now simian. Favorite (and nearly only) word: Oook.

Ludmilla Cake – Daughter of Evadne and a werewolf, of sorts.

Lupine – Wolf who turns into a wolf-man monthly.

Miss Renata Flitworth – Close acquaintance of Bill Door (aka Death). An amazing woman in many ways.

Modo – UU’s dwarf gardener. Say “Hallo” when you see him.

Mr Cake – Deceased husband of Evadne.

(Mr) Gorper – Member of the Fresh Start Club. Species unknown.

Mr Keeble – Owns a job shop.

(Mr) Lifton – Sal’s father. Acquainted with Bill Door.

(Mrs) Drull – A ghoul.

Mrs Evadne Cake – A medium, verging on small. Could switch her premonition on and off.

Mrs Lifton – Sal’s mother.

Mrs Pivey – Lived near the Notfaroutoe family.

Mrs Whitlow – Chief servant, Aye believe, at Unseen University. A psychic.

Nancy – Miss Flitworth’s pig.

Ned Simnel – Blacksmith and inventor of the Combination Harvester.

Offler – The Crocodile God who has difficulty with speech due to his fang-like teeth – not unlike the speaking problems encountered by all crocodiles.

One-Man-Bucket – A spirit whose full name was One-Man-Pouring-a-Bucket-of-Water-over-Two-Dogs.

Ordpor the Tasteless – He has sacred Flying Ducks.

Patrician of Ankh – The leader of the city of Ankh-Morpork. You know him cordially as Havelock Vetinari.

Prissal “Merry Prankster” Teatar – Involved in an embarrassing event that precipitated the requirement that bodies at UU lie in state for 24 hours.

Ralph – Intendant of Miss Flitworth? Possible error in Reaper Man. May be the same person as Rufus.

Reg Shoe – Undead head of the Fresh Start Club. Also a constable of the Watch.

Reverend Welegare – Once surprised by Count Notfaroutoe.

Rufus – One-time intendant of Miss Flitworth. A smuggler, like Renata’s father. (See Ralph.)

Sal Lifton – She could see Bill Door clearly. Was miraculously rescued by Bill Door from a burning building.

Sandelfon – God of corridors.

Schleppel – A shy bogeyman.

‘Scratcher’ Hocksole – A wizard who “Went Away” in the Year of the Intimidating Porpoise.

Sek – The Seven-Handed god of the Temple of the Seven-Handed Sek.

Senior Wrangler – Wizard at UU. This is an actual position in the Roundworld as well.

Sergeant Frederick (Fred) Colon – Mainly of the Night Watch. Likes to stay out of trouble – especially other peoples’.

Squire Bottomley – Brother of Duke.

William Spigot – Acquaintance of Bill Door in town. Sang when he worked.

Windle Poons – Wizard at UU who is at least 130 years old and nearly deaf. The hearing problem often worked in his favor.
