This is your basic alphabetical list of the significant and not-so-significant characters in Moving Pictures. You might find some of the innabun in the chronological list here.
Achmed the Mad – Necromancer who wrote the Necrotelicomnicon.
Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully the Brown – Prominent leader of Unseen University. Sorta good at what he does – whatever that is.
Aunti Googool – Relative of M’Bu. Headed the Yellow Section of the elephant herd.
Azhural N’choate – Klatchian stock dealer.
Banana N’Vectif – Cunningest hunter on the great yellow plains of Klatch. Built a better mousetrap.
Bezam Planter – Owner of the Odium theatre.
Black Shadow of the Desert – Reportedly, per Gaspode, not afraid of the dark.
Breccia – Troll actor. Acquaintance of Ginger and Victor. Cousin of Rock. (Possibly the same as the possible daughter of Kwartz.)
Bursar, The – At UU, but not a wizard. Needs his dried frog pills. Aka Mr. Dinwiddie.
Calliope – Bezam Planter’s daughter. She could play the organ.
Chair of Indefinite Studies – Overweight wizard of UU. In on the discussion of the moving picture Blown Away.
Cohen the Barbarian – Ghenghiz Cohen. The Disc’s greatest warrior, a legend in his own time. Or as he says, “I’m a lifetime in my own legend.”
Corporal Cecil Wormsborough St. John “Nobby” Nobbs – Member of the Night Watch. Species: human. Probably.
Crullet – Fisherman from Jowser Cove. Acquaintance of Deccan.
‘Cucumber’ Framer – Acquaintance of Windle Poons who, according to the tale, got some glue and did something [unknown] with it.
Cut-me-own-throat (C.M.O.T) Dibbler – Originally known as Claude Maximillian Overton Transpire Dibbler. Entrepreneur (unsuccessful). Will sell you a “pig” sausage innabun. Don’t ask questions.
Dean of Pentacles – Wizard of UU who thought there was too much sex “these days”.
Death – An anthrpomorphic personification comprised of a skeleton, covered in a black robe, and holding a scythe (or a sword, for kings). He communicates in CAPTIAL LETTERS without the quotation marks.
Deccan Ribobe – Last Keeper of the Door.
Detritus – A troll who eventually becomes a leading member of the Watch.
Dozy – Dwarf who was reminded sternly by his overseer never to sing the Hihohiho song again.
Evil-Minded Son of a Bitch – Camel. Victor worked with him in a moving picture.
Fruntkin – Served “food” at Borgle’s cafeteria.
Gaffer Bird – Head handleman for the moving pictures in Holy Wood.
Galena – Troll who performed primarily rock work in moving pictures. Changed his name to Rock.
Gaspode the Wonder Dog – An amazing canine who could talk (temporarily) in Holy Wood. Also a friend of Angua.
Great A’Tuin – He or she is the turtle who moves through space in the Discworld universe. On his or her back are 4 elephants. On the backs of the elephants rests the Disc itself.
Greyhald ‘Tudgy’ Spold – Oldest wizard in The Light Fantastic. Head of the Ancient and Truly Original Sages of the Unbroken Circle. One-time Archchancellor of UU.
High Priest of Blind Io – Won the right (by a club with nails) to crown the apparent king of Ankh-Morpork.
Howondaland Smith – Balgrog Hunter. Reportedly, per Gaspode, practic’ly eats the dark for his tea.
King Leonid – Of Ephebe. 100 elephants were used to cart the stone for his tomb.
Ksandra – A maid at Unseen University who normally has clothes pegs in her mouth, even while talking.
Laddie – Dog actor. Good boy.
Lady Sybil Deidre Oglivanna Ramkin – Caretaker of swamp dragons and eventual spouse of Commander Vimes. Richest person in Ankh-Morpork.
Lecturer in Recent Runes – Wizard at UU. Contrived wearing false beards over their beards as a disguise.
(Head) Librarian – Formerly human, now simian. Favorite (and nearly only) word: Oook.
Lord Henry Skipps – Possible hero in the Battle of Pseudopolis. At least, there’s a shadow play named for him.
Lully – Member of the Alchemists Guild.
M’Bu – Assistant to Azhural N’choate.
Meggelin – Chanter (and presumably Keeper of the Door) before Tento.
Morraine – Troll who often worked with Galena / Rock. Character actor in Holy Wood who could do ancient monoliths. Worked in the Ankh-Morpork armory. Now on the Watch.
Mrs Marietta Cosmopolite – Of 3 Quirm Street, Ankh-Morpork. Dress-maker (seamstress) in charge of costumes in Holy Wood.
Mrs Planter – Wife of Bezam. Along with much of Holy Wood, appreciated Victor’s acting – or, at least, his looks.
Mrs Whitlow – Chief servant, Aye believe, at Unseen University. A psychic.
Muluccai – Acquaintance of Azhural N’choate who was bound to have a dozen or so elephants.
Nodar Borgle – Owner of the cafeteria in Holy Wood.
Osbert – A huge golden figure in Holy Wood. Reminiscent of Uncle Osric and Uncle Oswald.
Patrician of Ankh – The leader of the city of Ankh-Morpork. You know him cordially as Havelock Vetinari.
Peavie – Treasurer of the Alchemists Guild.
Pimple – Acquaintance of Windle Poons who, according to the tale, hammered on the door of the Assassins’ Guild.
Ponder Stibbons – A student wizard. Reader in Invisible Writings. Often the brains of UU.
Riktor the Tinkerer / Counter – Inventor of the resograph.
Ruby – Troll bartender at The Blue Lias. She also did a stage act there. Courted by Detritus.
Scummidge – Acquaintance of Windle Poons who, according to the tale, was a porter.
Second-cousin !Kck! – Relative of M’Bu. Headed the Green Section of the elephant herd.
Sendivoge – Secretary of the Alchemists’ Guild.
Sergeant Frederick (Fred) Colon – Mainly of the Night Watch. Likes to stay out of trouble – especially other peoples’.
Sham Harga – Proprietor of Harga’s House of Ribs. Down by the docks.
Sniddin – Gnome actor. Acquaintance of Ginger and Victor.
Soll – C.M.O.T Dibbler’s nephew. Vice-President in Charge of Making Pictures.
Tazikel – Acquaintance of Azhural N’choate who usually had 20 or so elephants available.
Tento – Keeper of the Door before Deccan.
Theda Withel (Ginger) – Victor’s co-star in Holy Wood. (Hopefully that’s her on the cover.)
Thomas Silverfish – President of the Alchemists’ Guild. Moving pictures director in Holy Wood.
Thunderfoot – Dwarf actor. Acquaintance of Ginger and Victor.
Uncle N’gru – Relative of M’Bu. Headed the Blue Section of the elephant herd.
Uncle Osric – Relative of Victor’s. A small statue reminded Victor of him.
Uncle Oswald – Relative of Ginger’s. A man in her dream reminded her of him.
Victor Tugelbend – Student wizard who, despite being beyond lazy, becomes a star in Holy Wood.
Windle Poons – Wizard at UU who is at least 130 years old and nearly deaf. The hearing problem often worked in his favor.
