The list that follows tells you the order that you will find the various places mentioned in Guards! Guards! The ABC listing of the same is over here.
Ankh-Morpork – The largest city on the Disc where much of the action in the Discworld series takes place. Ruled by the Patrician. Home of Unseen University.
Watch House (original, Treacle Mine Road) – First location of Ankh-Morpork’s City Watch until it became dragon-flamed.
Unseen University – The home of the Disc’s wizards, a very magical place where magic is almost never used, and for good reason. Known as UU, for short. Sometimes misspelled, Unesene.
Elucidated Brethren of the Ebon Night – A rented house on Bitwash Street until it became dragon-flamed.
Illuminated and Ancient Brethren of Ee – Establishment often confused with the Elucidated Brethren of the Ebon Night. Obviously.
Treacle Street – Usually location of the meeting place of the Brethren of Ee, except when there’s a mixup with the fretwork club.
Bakers’ Guild – Headquarters for the members of the Bakers’ Guild. Located on Baker Street.
Ramtop Mountains – One of the main mountain ranges Hubward.
Bunch of Grapes – Easy Street. Establishment possibly frequented by Captain Vimes.
Easy Street – Ankh-Morpork. Location of the Bunch of Grapes and other pubs.
Shades, The – A section of Ankh-Morpork that is darker (in more ways than one) than it sounds.
Guild of Thieves, Cutpurses, Housebreakers and Allied Trades – An organization, first encountered in Equal Rites, perhaps known later as simply the Guild of Thieves or Thieves’ Guild.
Sheer Street – A fortune teller had his crystal ball stolen there.
Temple of Offler – Housed, among other things, a jeweled disembowelling knife.
Assassins’ Guild – Headquarters for the members of the Assassins’ Guild in Ankh-Morpork. Best not to know its exact location.
Broken Drum / Mended Drum – A popular tavern (for fights, etc.) in Ankh-Morpork.
Discworld – First mentioned in Equal Rites, this is the place where it all hits the…er…takes place.
Filigree Street – Forms a T with Short Street at the latter’s turnwise end. The Broken / Mended Drum is located at this intersection.
Short Street – One of the longest streets in Ankh-Morpork.
Quirm – A city near Ankh-Morpork, not to be confused with Chirm. Probably.
Sweetheart Lane – The Shades, Ankh-Morpork. Not likely on your way home.
Silver Street – Turn right out of it when you want to avoid The Shades. In other words, always turn right out of Silver Street.
Fast Luck Alley – The Shades. Be careful how you say this one.
Ankh (River) – That which divides Ankh the city from Morpork. You can usually walk on the surface of the Ankh, even if you’re not a deity.
Oblong Office – The main room of the Patrician in the Palace. Definitely not the same as the Oval Office.
Scoone Avenue – Ankh-Morpork. Location of the Ramkin estate.
Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Lost Dragons – See Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons. Pretty sure they’re the same place.
Pseudopolis – A major city on the Disc. In The Colour of Magic, Death is headed there because of the white plague striking the city. Home of Eric.
Wixon’s Alley – Location of a candlemaker’s shop over which was a little room that served as Captain Vimes’ home, when he wasn’t at work. So, virtually never. Also where widow Maroon lives.
Guild of Fire Fighters – Outlawed by the Patrician after they figured out how to make money too easily.
Guild of Merchants (and Traders) – Possibly fictitious location for possibly fictitious members (originally) created by Rerpf. Later became a valid establishment in Ankh-Morpork.
Tower of Art – The oldest and tallest building on the Disc. Part of Unseen University. Very magical. Not necessarily artful.
Pseudopolis Yard – Ankh-Morpork, not Pseudopolis. A circular street located at the city’s center. The Opera House and City Watch are on it.
Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons, The – Established by Lady Ramkin, it’s a hospital for swamp dragons.
Opera House – Center of Ankh-Morpork. The (new) City Watch house sits opposite it in Pseudopolis Yard.
Plaza of Broken Moon(s) – Open area where Rincewind used Twoflower’s iconograph. Visited by Tomjon.
New Orleans (roundworld) – Along with Rio, compared to Ankh-Morpork, it doesn’t really know how to have a good time.
Rio (de Janeiro) (roundworld) – See New Orleans.
Street of Small Gods – Ankh-Morpork. Runs from the Plaza of the Broken Moons to Short Street. Contains temples you’d expect.
Market Street – Ankh-Morpork. In which Corporal Carrot acquired a pair of axes.
Street of Cunning Artificers, The – Ankh-Morpork. Contains just what you think. Only moreso.
Bitwash Street – Location of the (former) house where the Elucidated Brethren meet, or rather, met.
Harga’s House of Ribs – An eatery down by the docks in Ankh-Morpork. Death once occupied its kitchen.
Beggars’ Guild – Building in Ankh-Morpork where the Beggars’ Guild has its headquarters.
Teachers’ Guild – Building housing the members of the Teachers’ Guild. Headed by Master Greetling.
Temple of Small Gods – Where many gods with few believers take up residence. Not the gods atop Cori Celesti.
Klatch – Land of deserts and some jungles. Also the source of the phrase, “Pardon my Klatchian.” The country of Klatch is on the continent of Klatch.
Sto Lat – A small city in the Sto Plains, first mentioned in passing in Equal Rites. Home of King Olerve and Princess Keli.
Tsort – Location of the Valley of Tsort and thus the Great Pyramid of Tsort. Not to be confused with the Great Pyramid of Djelibeybi.
Mincing Street – Where Skully Maltoon used to live in Ankh-Morpork. Also where widow Gaskin lives.
Sto Helit – A small city in the Sto Plains. Rival of Sto Lat.
Brass Bridge – One of several bridges in Ankh-Morpork. Probably made mostly of brass or something that looks like it.
Cori Celesti – 10-mile high mountain at the Hub of the Disc. Home to the gods of Dunmanifestin. Possible translation: Heart of heaven.
Dunmanifestin – The home of the major gods, those with too many followers to be included in the Temple of Small Gods. Located atop Cori Celesti at the Hub of the Disc.
Valhalla – Home of the gods – both in Roundworld mythology and possibly in Discworld reality.
Hogsback Alley – Ankh-Morpork. Connects the Street of Cunning Artificers with the Street of Small Gods.
